2 LIVES LOST AS FIRE RAZES IDP CAMP IN MAIDUGURI

At least two lives have been lost, and many homes gutted, as a fire outbreak engulfed the Muna Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camp in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
The fire said to have broken out around noon, when most adult dwellers were away on their farms, engulfed numerous homes, particularly those constructed with thatch.
Witnesses said firefighters arrived about an hour later and desperately battled the flames.
Muna IDP camp is an unofficial camp that has existed in Maiduguri, even after the government closed down the official camps.
