African First Ladies to engage Relevant bodies over Sudan Conflict

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari says all hands must be on deck to prevent Sudan’s crisis from escalating, charging African leaders to urgently address the issue.

She made the call in Abuja while speaking at 10th General Assembly of the African first ladies’ peace mission at the State house Abuja, where she revealed that the AFLPM will also engage relevant bodies in addressing the conflict.

Aisha said recent events have revived the need for more concerted action regarding the issue of women’s peace and security in Africa.

She noted that countries that suffer from Issues of banditry, insurgency, internal strife, and even coup d’états have unfortunately been witnessing stalled development.

Aisha Buhari who is the outgoing President of the AFLPM stressed the need for government at all levels to continue to support the cause of women and children in the society.

The event witnessed the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the AFLPM and the African Union to re-energize Peace Mission in African.
