ANTI-OPEN-GRAZING LAW: MIYETTI ALLAH WARNS PLATEAU GOVERNMENT

The leadership of the Miyyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria has called on the Plateau State Government to cancel its Planned Bill for a Law to establish a livestock Transformation Program in the state, in the Interest of Peace.

The Association led by its Chairman on the Plateau, Nura Muhammad while addressing journalists in Jos said the Law if established, is capable of plunging the state into another round of crisis.

For over two decades, Plateau state has had its own share of violence with many lives lost, People displaced and properties worth billions of Naira destroyed, mostly blame on the farmer, herders Conflict. The state government in its efforts to address the crisis decided to adopt the State livestock Transformation Program, But the Miyyeti Allah in a swift reaction is kicking against it, blaming the crisis on criminality.

According to the Association, the law if established will Plung the state into another round of crisis.

They unanimously rejected the move saying it’s an indirect plan to rob the Fulani’s in Plateau state.

For now, the state Government is yet to respond, but the bill has been sent to the state assembly and if passed into law will outlaw open Grazing in the state.
