The All Progressives Congress,(APC) has disowned a group parading itself as Progressives Youth Movement for calling for the sack of the party’s Caretaker Committee led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni.
APC’s reaction followed a statement by the youth group led by Mustapha Audu that it had sacked the Mai Mala Buni led Caretaker Committee on Monday.
Secretary of the Caretaker Committee, John Akpan Udoedehe in a statement in Abuja stated that the purported group and membership are unknown to the party, its structure or as a registered support group.
He disowned the group; adding that APC cannot account for its activities or join issues with.
The faction had also attacked President Buhari over his supervision of the party and named Mustapha Audu as its interim Chairman of the party.
Audu had announced that a National Reconciliation Committee will be formed to reconcile aggrieved members of the party ahead of its February 26, 2021 convention.
