APC WINS KEBBI COUNCIL POLLS, CLEARS ALL SEATS

The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission(KSIEC) has declared that All Progressive Congress (APC) has won all the 21 Local Government Chairmanship seats and all the 225 Counsellorship positions in the election conducted last week.
In a press statement signed by the Chairman of the commission, Aliyu Muhammad Mera and made available to newsmen on Monday, the electoral body said that APC swept all the chairmanship and counsellorship elections.
He said that 18 political parties indicated interest to participate in the election while 17 participated actively.
“Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission based on the power conferred onto it by section 197 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to organized, supervised and conduct Election into the Local Government council in the state, that Election was held into the 21 Local Government Areas and 225 Electoral wards in the state” he added.
He then expressed appreciation to the Kebbi State Government for ensuring that this important tier of Government is ruled by a democratically elected council.
“You see I equally thank all the security agency and other relevant stakeholders for supporting the election.
