The leadership of the academic staff union of universities, ASUU has suspended conditionally, its 8-month-old strike.
The decision was reached during a marathon meeting from Thursday night to early Friday morning.
The meeting was to decide their next course of action after ASUU state branches across the country met over the appeal court ruling last week, to vote on suspending the strike.
The court of appeal had last week ordered the lecturers to suspend the strike within seven days, before its appeal can be heard in the next adjournment date.
ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, to push for the adoption of UTAS in place of IPPIS as a payment platform, renegotiation of 2009/2013 agreements as well as payment of owed earned academic allowance and release of revitalization funds.
