Bauchi governor forwards names of 24 commissioner- nominees to state assembly for approval.

Bauchi state House of Assembly said it has received the names of twenty four commissioner-nominees for screening and approval from the state Governor Bala Mohammed, in line with provisions of the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

The names of the 24 nominees were contained in a statement  released by the spokesperson to the speaker, Abdul Burra.

According to the statement, the message of the governor was read by the majority leader of the house, Saleh Hodi Jibir at plenary, presided over by the speaker, Abubakar Suleiman.

The member representing Kirfi Constituency, Habibu Umar moved motion for the screening to take place on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of August 2023 and was seconded by Lawan Dauda, a member representing Sade Constituency.

Following the motion moved and its secondment, the speaker put the motion to a voice vote, and was resolved that the 24 Commissioner-nominees be screened on 2nd, 3rd, 4th of August 2023.

Out of the 24 Nominees sent for screening and confirmation, four are women from Bogoro, Itas Gadau, Toro and Zaki local government areas respectively.
