BREAKING: INEC DECLARES IDRIS NASIR OF THE APC, KEBBI STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has declared Dr. Idris Nasir of the All Progressive Congress APC the winner of the Governorship election in the State.
Idris was declared the winner on Sunday by the INEC Returning Officer for Kebbi State, Yusuf Saidu in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Saidu, a Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry with the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), said Idris polled a total of 409,225 votes to beat his close rival of the Peoples Democratic Party, Maj-Gen. Aminu Bande (rtd.) who garnered 360,940 votes.
Reports out of theĀ INEC collation centre in Birnin Kebbi suggest that all party agents present have duly signed the result sheet with no objection to the declared result in a keenly contested gubernatorial election in the state.
In his words, the INEC returning officer in the supplementary governorship election held yesterday in the state, Prof. Saidu said:
I, Professor Yusuf Saidu, hereby certify that I am the Returning Officer for the 2023 Kebbi State Governorship Election held on the 15th day of April, 2023.
That Idris Nasiru of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby the winner and is returned elected.
Recall that, on 18 March,2023, while Governorship elections was conducted, APC candidate, Dr. Nadir Idris had scored 388,258 while his Arch rival from PDP, General Aminu Bande polled 342,980 with difference of 45,218 before election was declared inconclusive by Returning Officer, Professor Yusuf Saidu from Usmanu Danfodio University over cancellation of results in 142 polling units in 20 LGAs, out of 21 Local government areas in the state.
According to the results by INEC,APC candidate, Dr Nadir Idris had won previously in 18 Local government areas out of 21 LGAs while PDP candidate won in three LGAs.
