Breaking: inec personnel kidnapped in Bayelsa, boat carrying 12 election officers capsize.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has confirmed the kidnap if it’s officer assigned to the registration area 06 (Ossioma) in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

INEC disclosed this in a statement released by its Bayelsa state Head, Voters Education and Publicity, Wilfred Ifogah. The statement reads that:

Its SPO was abducted while waiting to board a boat at the Amassoma Jetty.

It says that security agencies have been notified of the development.

INEC has also confirmed that; the boat carrying 12 of its personnel for the Governorship election in registration area 17, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state has capsized, and that no lives was lost in the unfortunate incident.

But result sheets, batteries and other personal effects of the officials were lost in the process.

The electoral body promised that it is making efforts to enure that elections are still conducted in the affected area that has about 5368 registered voters and 5311 PVC collected.
