BUHARI PRESENTS N20.15 TRILLION 2023 APPROPRIATION BILL BEFORE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY.

President Muhammadu Buhari has presented a 20.15 trillion naira Appropriation Bill named “Budget of Fiscal Sustainability and Transition” before a joint session of the National Assembly.
The President who used the occasion to highlight the progress made by his administration in the last seven and half years expressed optimism that ongoing rail and road projects across the country will effectively enhance national growth before the end of his administration.
Buhari insists that the country’s debt profile is still within the self-imposed limit compared to the country in “our” pair but however noted that revenue generation and debt profile should be kept under close monitoring.
President Buhari told the National Assembly that funding of fuel subsidies will come to an end in June 2023 saying the payment is “controversial and unsustainable”.
Buhari who admitted that no single government can adequately address the challenges facing a country expressed optimism that the 2023 budget will meet the strategic targets of his administration, reposition the country and leave a viable economy for the incoming administration.
