President Muhammadu Buhari will today travel to London for a “routine medical check-up,” his office has said.
The special assistant to the President on media and publicity Femi Adesina said this on his official twitter handle that the President will return to the country in the second week of November.
Despite budgeting billions of naira annually for the state house clinic and other hospitals in Nigeria, the Nigerian leader and members of his immediate family routinely travel abroad for medical tourism.
President Buhari had on Monday chaired an emergency national security council meeting over the recent terror alert by the United States mission, after which he proceeded to Owerri, Imo state to declare open a retreat for senior police officers.
