CAF WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE: BAYELSA QUEENS QUALIFY FOR SEMI FINALS.

Written by on November 6, 2022

Nigeria’s representative at the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League, Bayelsa Queens has qualified for the semifinals of the competition taking place in Morocco.

Bayelsa Queens recovered from the defeat against defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in their group opener, by winning their two remaining group games to book their spot in the Semis.

The Bayelsa girls defeated Wadi Degla FC 3:0 in their final group game after a 2:0 victory over TP Mazembe of Congo in their second group game to keep their hopes alive of bringing home the trophy from Morocco.

The Domo Okara tutored girls are seeking redemption from the abysmal showing of Rivers Angels in the competition at the maiden edition last year.

The Restoration girls of Bayelsa are through to the semi-finals and will be hoping to cross one final hurdle to reach the final for a chance to win Africa’s coveted title in club Female football.

But Okara will be hoping the girls can quickly overcome their wasteful style in front of goal for a chance at glory, going into the semifinals against group A winners ASFAR Women Football club on Wednesday.

Group B winners, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa will take on group A runners-up, Simba Queens of Tanzania in the other semifinal game the same day.
