China pledges increased economic cooperation with Nigeria

Nigeria has been assured of increased economic cooperation by Chinese President XI Jinping the Chinese president who spoke through his Special Envoy, Peng Qinghua, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress, says Nigeria is important to Africa and the world.
While commending President Bola Tinubu’s plan to lead Nigeria to a new era of economic development and prosperity, the Chinese envoy said there are areas where the country could benefit from China.
He called on the two countries to share ideas and align strategies, urging President Tinubu to also create more conducive environment for investment.
A statement issued by one of aides to President Tinubu Tunde Rahman said the President promised that his administration would work to promote ease of doing business.
It would be recalled that the President had on Monday evening, after the inauguration ceremony, held similar meetings with envoys and heads of missions of some countries, including those of the United Kingdom, United States, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Israel, Cape Verde, Somalia and Nicaragua.
