COMMUTERS STRANDED AS LAGOS COMMERCIAL DRIVERS BEGIN 7-DAY STRIKE.

The strike embarked on by commercial bus drivers in Lagos state has left many commuters stranded in different parts of the metropolis.
Many were seen at various Bus stops unable to get vehicles to their places of work and businesses.
Some of the drivers said the strike will continue until the government stops the imposition of illegal taxes, extortion, and harassment of their members.
However, some other drivers were seen going about their daily activities.
Some of the stranded passengers called on the government to address the issues leading to the strike to provide lasting solutions as they are mostly affected by the strike.
The drivers under the aegis of the joint drivers welfare association of Nigeria had last week threatened to begin a seven-day warning strike from October 31st over alleged extortion and harassment by touts at different motor parks and garages.
Nigerians are however calling on the government to swing into action to quickly stop the strike.
