Cross River governor sets up 33-Man Special Task Force to curb illegal mining activities

Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu has approved the immediate composition of a Special Task Force on Illegal Mining in the state.
The Special Task Force which has Engr. Ukam Ngwu Ngwu as Chairman and Charles Ushie as Secretary to oversee all the mining activities in the state.
According to the Governor, the composition of the Taskforce will no doubt bring immediate results and clean up the state of illegal miners.
Illegal mining sites have spread across the eighteen local government areas of the state but can be majorly found in Biase, Yakurr, Obanliku, Obudu, Obubra, and Yala local government Council Areas.
