Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade, this Wednesday, locked out some of his aides, including some staff of Government House, Calabar, for coming late to work.
The Governor who came to his office as early as 7:58 am with his aides and security operatives directed that all doors of the Governor’s Office be locked at exactly 8:30 am.
Some of the governor’s aides, Government House staff, and visitors, who came after 8:30 am were all refused entry into the Governor’s Office.
Findings by our correspondent revealed that the governor who had been away from the state for three weeks was not comfortable with the attitude of some of the civil and public servants toward their work, despite his religious attitude towards the payment of monthly salaries.
All the aides who were locked out refused to speak when asked why they were not in the office before their principal, even as the gate remained locked at 12:noon, the time of filing this report.
