The Department of State Services has disclosed that operatives searched the Kaduna residence and offices of Tukur Mamu on Thursday night with many discoveries.
A statement by its Spokesman, Peter Afunanya confirmed that several incriminating materials were found during the search among which were military accouterments, large cash in various foreign currencies, and financial transaction instruments.
Afunanya noted that “While further investigations continue, Mamu will, sure, have a day in court”.
The statement however did not disclose when the suspect will be arraigned.
Tukur Mamu was arrested in Cairo, Egypt on September 6, for his alleged involvement in the collection of ransom from victims of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna train attack on March 17 this year.
The self-proclaimed negotiator was taken into custody on arrival at the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano by the Department of State Services and transferred to Abuja for investigations.
Mamu who is the publisher of Desert Herald in Kaduna State is expected to be arraigned for terrorism charges in the coming days to account for his role in the collection and sharing of ransom with terrorists.
