The Ekiti state police command has assured residents of the state of improved security while warning everyone with criminal intent to leave the state.
The call was made on Tuesday in Ado Ekiti by the state police public relations officer Sunday Abutu while parading some suspected criminals arrested in different parts of the state.
Among those paraded is thirty-three years old Opeyemi Adeniji accused of stealing church offerings.
Opeyemi was once a security operative at the Joseph Ayo Babalola Mountain church, Ikeji Arakeji.
According to the Police, after his resignation in March 2022, he hatched a plan to steal from the church’s vault and
successfully made away with the sum of six hundred thousand, one hundred and Fifteen Naira (N600, 115)
But the suspect ran out of luck when he was arrested along Ogotun road.
Abutu, who paraded Opeyemi alongside other criminal suspects appealed to residents to provide the police with useful information that could assist in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He said Opeyemi and other suspects will soon have their day in court.
