FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO DISBURSE CASH TO VULNERABLE NIGERIANS IN KANO.

The Federal Government has expressed confidence in meeting up the target of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, made this known during the disbursement of the Federal Government cash grants for 9,925 vulnerable groups in Kano State.

The 9,925 beneficiaries are drawn from the 44 local government areas of Kano State, with a significant consideration for women and those with special needs, including persons with disability.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Nasir Gwarzo, while disbursing the 20,000 Naira cash to the beneficiaries said, the target is to increase income and productive assets among them.

The minister expressed confidence that the programme, alongside the digitized payment for conditional Cash Transfer and the National Sensitization Exercise for the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme, will help achieve the lifting of 100 million Nigerians from poverty.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje thanked the Federal Government for the programme.

The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Usman Alhaji, urged the Federal Government to give special consideration to the state, and increase its allocation, because of its high population.
