The federal government has condemned the attack on the convoy of the United States Consulate staff in Anambra State by suspected gunmen, which killed four people on Tuesday.
The condemnation was contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Fransisca Omayuli yesterday.
While investigation is ongoing to fish out the culprits, the federal government extends its sympathies and condolences to the families of the deceased as well as to the United States Consulate and Mission in Nigeria over the unfortunate incident.
Meanwhile, the United States Government has promised to help Nigeria apprehend the killers of its officials and two police officers in Anambra.
The delegation was traveling in advance of a planned visit to a flood response project in Anambra sponsored by the American government.
Secretary of State, Antony Blinken said the U.S, has no greater priority than the safety and security of its personnel, expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of those killed in the attack.
