FG URGE PENSIONERS TO EMBRACE THE Digitalised Verification exercise.

The Nigerian Government has advised on the need for pensioners to maximize opportunities provided by the introduction of information technology for the Verification of pensioners true identity across the country.
Executive secretary,Pension transitional arrangement Directorate (PTAD), Chioma Ejikeme gave the advice at a Forum in Akure, the Ondo state capital, which brought together pensioners and stakeholders from Five South West States including Kwara to appraise the plight of pensioners in Nigeria with a view to finding effective ways of addressing some of the challenges faced by retirees across the country.
Over two Hundred Thousand federal government Pensioners are faced with rigorous verification exercise to ascertain their status before payment of their pension allowances on yearly basis.
In April 2023, The Nigerian Government introduced the digital “I am alive confirmation solution’, platform, a platform described by some stakeholders as the new Narrative needed at this critical period to addressing the challenges faced by pensioners in getting their entitlement paid timely.
The new introduction necessitated the Gathering of these senior citizens from the five South West states of Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ekiti and Ondo including Kwara state to give direction to the new trend.
 Ejikeme said Government has made Special provisions for some Pensioners with health challenges.
For some of the Pensioners, The introduction of the new verification scheme is timely.
