Cross River State and the Federal Government have agreed to work together to achieve food security in the country.
The agreement was reached at a one day workshop organised by the federal ministry of agriculture and natural resources for the Six states of the south-south region in response to the increasing demand for closing the existing gap in the food production chain through data information in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the Cross River State Government, Commissioner for Agriculture, Okon Owuna said the State has keyed into the project to build on agricultural knowledge and information sharing towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs, on food security.
The focus of the south-south workshop on statistics and data information on the Agricultural Improvement and Land Access Program Initiative was part of the Framework for achieving food security.
