FORMER ONDO COMMISSIONER, 3500 OTHERS DEFECT TO SOUTH-WEST PDP.

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West have said the current crisis rocking the party will not affect its chances of clinching power from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in 2023.

The party leadership gave the assurance in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State when they received the immediate past Commissioner for Water Resources in Ondo State, Yetunde Adeyanju, and 3500 supporters who defected from APC to the opposition PDP.

The PDP chieftains stated that the current crisis within the camp of the party will only make it stronger for the task ahead.

They said Nigerians are tired of the misrule of the present APC-led Government.

Adeyanju who was a leader of the Women’s Group for Governor Akeredolu’s re-election campaign in 2016 and 2020 said she can no longer pretend that all is well with the ruling APC.

Adeyanju and her supporters were received into the PDP by some of the south-west party leaders, among who is the State Chairman of the party, Fatai Adams, the Governorship Candidate of PDP in Ogun State, Ladi Adebutu, Deputy Governor-Elect of Osun State, Kola Adewusi and former National Vice Chairman, Eddy Olafeso.
