FRSC: DON’T PAY TRAFFIC FINES AT PATROL POINTS, WE DON’T USE POS.

The Federal Road Safety Corps says it does not use, nor permit the use of point of sale (POS) machines nor receive payment of fines for traffic offences at patrol points.

A statement released by the Corps Public Relations Officer, Bisi Kazeem, says the clarification became important following a misrepresentation, by a section of the motoring public, on the use of the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Electronic Booking Device (E-Tablet), specifically designed for issuing traffic offence tickets by patrol operatives, as a Point of Sale Machine (POS).

Kazeem explained that as an ISO-certified organization with global recognition of its lead role in road safety administration and traffic management, the Corps has over the years developed transformational initiatives focused on People, Processes, and Technology.

He also said the introduction of the device targets improving robust data collection and speeding up on-the-spot synchronisation of traffic offender’s information into the national database.
