GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU SUSPENDS NURTW AND RTEAN IN THE STATE INDEFINITELY.

Written by on March 9, 2021

Ondo State Government, yesterday, suspended the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW and the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, in the state, as a result of the recent leadership crisis in the two unions.
The Governor directed all NURTW and RTEAN members are to immediately vacate all motor parks across  the 18 local government areas of the state and to stop collecting dues from taxi drivers and other motorists.
The Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Special Duties and Strategy, Dr. Doyin Odebowale, said that the suspension is with immediate effect.
The Governor had said last week that the suspension of NURTW activities in motor parks would only last for two weeks. But it appears that may have changed as this suspension is indefinite.
