Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has called on the Federal Government to prove that it is not complicit in the activities of the Fulani socio cultural group Miyetti Allah Katau Hore by arresting its members for incitement and breach of security in the country.
Governor Samuel made the call at the Government House Makurdi while receiving the 36th Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, Tunji Akingbola.
Ortom, lamented the negative impact of cult related activities on the society and stressed that his administration would amend the law to make it extremely difficult to secure the release of any cultist.
He equally shared his thoughts regarding recent media attacks on state Governors by the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore arising from the enactment of ranching laws by various states across the country.
Governor Ortom advocated for increased funding to all security agencies by States and Federal Governments to be able to fight crime and banditry effectively, stressing that the current security agents and equipment were grossly inadequate.
