GUNMEN ABDUCT A RETIRED AIR VICE-MARSHAL IN LAGOS.

Some unknown gunmen have abducted air vice-marshal Sikiru Smith(rtd), in the Ajah area of Lagos state.
Sikiru Smith, a cousin to a former inspector general of police, and the incumbent chairman, of the police service commission, Musiliu Smith, was said to have been whisked by some masked gunmen who invaded the dredging site at Ajah where he was supervising ongoing works in the area shooting sporadically into the air, before making their escape by boat with their victim.
Police public relations officer (PPRO) Lagos state command, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu who confirmed the incident, said the police is on the matter to unravel the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
AVM Smith was commissioned into the Nigeria air force as a pilot officer in 1979.
