HEADIES GLOBAL AWARD 2022 – TEMS AND WIZKID BIGGEST WINNERS.

The Headies Award, a music awards show, established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry, held its 15th edition on Sunday 4th of September 2022 at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.

The annual ceremony which features performances by established and promising artists saw big winners on the night in different categories and genres of music.

Nigerian rapper Olamide has picked up the award for the Best Rap Album of the Year at the ongoing annual headies awards.
His album Carpe Diem won in this category.
Afropop star Wizkid featuring Tems won the Best R&B Single and Best Music Collaboration categories for the hit single Essence, a song which rose to global acclaim and would later feature Justin Bieber.
Doings, a song by Flavour won in the Best Alternative Single category while the Rap Single award went to the song Feeling by Ladipoe featuring Benson BNXN, earlier known as Buju.
In a keenly contested category, The Street Pop Artiste of the Year went to Nigerian rappers Goya Menor and Nektunez with the hit single Ameno Amapiano remix.
The Producer of the year award went to Sarz and Lojay for the song MONALISA
For the Lyricist of the year award, Rapper A-Q won for the song The Last Cypher while Afropop singer Waje won in the Best Female Vocal Performance category.
In the Recording of the Year and Reggae Dancehall Album of the Year categories, Reggae Dancehall singer Patoranking won both.
Best Music Video award, an award for the best music video director, went to music director TG Omori.
