IGP ORDERS REDEPLOYMENT OF ADAMAWA POLICE COMMISSIONER, AS INEC RESUMES RESULT COLLATION

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has ordered that the Commissioner of Police on election duty in Adamawa State, Mohammed Barde to withdraw from the state with immediate effect.

The IGP also ordered that the Commissioner of Police in charge of Gombe State, CP Etim Equa immediately proceed to Adamawa state for election security of the yet-to-be concluded supplementary governorship poll.

This development was made known to the public by the Force public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, while addressing pressmen on Tuesday in Abuja.

The Force PPRO said the IGP is committed to a free and fair process in order to ensure the peaceful conclusion of the governorship election in the State.

Adejobi also said the IGP has yet to receive any letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeking the probe and prosecution of its embattled Resident Electoral Commissioner in Adamawa, Hudu Yunusa Ari.

Meanwhile, INEC Administrative Secretary in the state, Adamu Gujungu, who has been mandated by to take the place of the erring Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari was seen at the collation centre.
