Induction; President Buhari tasks elected governors to deliver on campaign promises

President Mohammadu Buhari has charged newly elected governors to ensure they deliver on campaign promises made to the electorate when they take charge of affairs in their various states come May 29 2023.

 

The President who was represented by his chief of staff, Ibrahim Gambari at the induction programme for governors, reminded them that the electorate are wiser and will not hesitate to vote out any governor who underperformed come next election.

President Buhari reminded the governors-elect that democracy is about delivering on campaign promises.

The deputy secretary general of United Nations, Amina Mohammed and the Director General World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-iweala urged the governors to carry the people along and find ways to change their mind set in other to make positive impacts in their states.

The Chairman Nigeria’s Governors’ forum, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state advised the new governors-elect to collaborate with the federal government to move the nation forward.

The 2023 induction organized by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum for re-elected and elected governors has the theme; ‘governing for impact, building sub-national governance’.
