INEC DECLARES APC’S DIKKO RADDA KATSINA GOVERNOR-ELECT

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared the All Progressives Congress Governorship candidate in Katsina State Dikko Radda as the winner of Saturday’s Governorship Election.
Declaring the result at the INEC State Collation centre in Katsina on Sunday evening, The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Gusau, Professor Muazu Abubakar who is the state collation officer said Dikko Radda polled a total of 859,892 votes to defeat his closest rival, Senator Yakubu Lado of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 486,620.
He said Dikko won 33 out of the 34 Local Government Areas of the state while the PDP candidate Senator Yakubu Lado won in Kankara Local Government Area.
Giving a further breakdown of the election results, The Collation Officer explained that the total number of votes cast is, One million, three hundred and eighty-six thousand, four hundred and twenty-seven while the total accredited voters are, One million three hundred and ninety- nine thousand, two hundred and ninety -one.
According to him, the Total Valid Votes were One million, three hundred and sixty-five thousand, eight hundred and forty-eight.
Abubakar added that the total number of rejected Votes was Twenty -Two Thousand, five hundred and Twenty-nine.
