Zamfara police command has deployed a search and rescue team to go after bandits that abducted the district head of Kasuwar Daji under Kaura-Namoda local government area of the state, Ibrahim Sarkin Fada.
The monarch was abducted at his residence in the early hours of Thursday.
Spokesperson of the State command, Mohammed Shehu said the bandits had fired several gunshots to frighten those within the village who wanted to rescue the district chief.
The family is yet to make an official comment on the kidnap of the district head, a father to a serving member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Anas Sarkin Fada Kaura.
