INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: BUHARI CELEBRATES NIGERIAN WOMEN.

Written by on March 8, 2022

President Muhammadu Buhari has showered praise on Nigerian women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

On this year’s celebration, under the hashtag Break the Bias, and the theme; Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow, the President said it’s an opportunity to reflect on the vital role women play in society, homes, governance, and other walks of life.

President Buhari however said women are not where they should be yet in many fields of endeavour, but believes that they cannot be held down for too long, as they have consistently proved that they can hold their own on all fronts, and in all fields.

The President in a statement issued by his special adviser on media and publicity Femi Adesina on Tuesday applauded the contribution of women to the current administration as Ministers, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Executive Directors, Executive Secretaries, and other key areas.
