Nigeria’s Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight belt with a tepid unanimous-decision victory over Jared Cannonier in the UFC 276 main event on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena on the Vegas Strip.
The Last Stylebender’ used his range and superior striking – especially a mix of left jabs, straight rights and well-placed kicks – to keep the powerful ‘Killa Gorilla’ at bay and always keep himself ahead on the scorecard, ultimately taking the fight 49-46 49-46 50-45.
Israel Adesanya improves his record to 12-0 at middleweight in the UFC. That’s the second longest win streak at middleweight in UFC history (Anderson Silva won 13 straight).
