Kogi state government has dismissed allegations of extrajudicial killings making the rounds in the media.
The accusation relates to Kabiru Bala who allegedly attacked the police during an arrest and was killed in the process.
Briefing journalists in Lokoja on the development, Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo says, the late Kabiru Bala lost his fundamental right when he opened fire on the police during his arrest to answer criminal allegations against him.
Fanwo while debunking the allegation said any attempt to create ethnic crisis in the state will be resisted.
In the past weeks, different groups particularly from the eastern senatorial district of Kogi state have staged protests in the nation’s capital Abuja over the killing.
