The Lagos State government has commenced an investigation on what it termed the ‘unprofessional conduct’ in the filming of the late ex-Big Brother Naija housemate, Patrick Fakoya also known as Rico Swavey, by persons suspected to be nurses in the hospital.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate was reportedly filmed by one of the nurses on duty as he battled for life, shortly after he was rushed from a ghastly motor accident along the Lekki-Ajah expressway.
In the Video, an unconscious Rico was placed on oxygen while on a chair. Voices believed to be nurses can be heard chatting, with one urging them to carry Rico onto the bed.
You people should stop making the video. Somebody is dying, you people are making video.
The Video had gone viral on social media in the wake of the former TV reality star’s demise sparking anger from members of the public with many demanding a probe into the actions of the nurses on duty. Some went further to share similar experiences in Government hospitals.
It has since drawn the attention of the Lagos State Government as the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho announced that an investigation will be conducted into circumstances surrounding the unethical behavior in the video. He said:
That hospital is not a government hospital; we have started an investigation into the unprofessional conduct of those who appeared in that video.
