Mohbad: Sam Larry is in our custody, assisting with investigation – police

The Lagos State Police command has confirmed that music promoter and Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu otherwise known as Sam Larry is in their custody and is currently helping in the command’s investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohhad.

The confirmation was made known by the state command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin on his twitter(X) handle last night. He said:

Balogun Olamilekan Eletu aka Sam Larry is now in our custody. He is currently assisting with ongoing investigation.

Although the Lagos Police PPRO did not disclose if Mr. Eletu submitted himself for questioning or he was arrested, there’s been unconfirmed report that “Sam Larry” Was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos upon his arrival from Kenya.

The police had earlier invited Sam Larry and singer, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley, for questioning over Mohbad’s demise.

The police, last week, also confirmed that pathologists had concluded the autopsy conducted on Mohbad, while they await the result.

There’s been series of protest over the circumstances behind the actual cause of the death of Mohbad, who was reported to have died on 12th of September, 2023, and subsequently buried the following day.

A handful of the youths and celebrities as well as social media influencers have pointed fingers in the direction of Mr. Eletu as one who may probably be the cause of Mohbad’s demise.

Mr. Fashola, aka Naira Marley, one of those invited by the Nigerian Police was seen in a video that went viral on social media, claiming he is willing to return back to the country to prove his innocence of Mohbad’s death if his safety was guaranteed.
