Morocco has announced plans to fund the rebuilding of about 50,000 homes damaged by last week’s earthquake.
The authorities will provide more than $13,000 (£10,460) for the reconstruction of homes which were completely destroyed, and $8,000 for those with partial damage.
In the meantime, residents will be given temporary shelters equipped to withstand cold weather, and each household will receive a grant of $3,000.
Nearly 3,000 people have been confirmed dead, and more than 5,000 injured in the 6.8 magnitude quake.
The exact number of people left homeless is still not known.
