The proposed 2.17 trillion naira supplementary budget transmitted to the house of representatives by president Bola Tinubu has scaled second reading in the green chamber.
The proposed supplementary budget which is coming 2months to the end of the year and few weeks to the presentation of the 2024 appriopriation bill by the president was speedily considered by the lawmakers at plenary shortly after receiving the president’s letter.
Details of the proposed budget revealed that the 2.1 trillion will be used to fund critical issues of security, labour and elections in Kogi,Bayelsa and Imo.
The president also requested the consideration and passage of the 2024 -2026 medium term expenditure framework and fiscal strategy paper.
