NASARAWA INSECURITY: BARMO MONARCH CRIES OUT AS HERDSMAN SNATCHES BIKES, KILLS OWNER.

A suspected Fulani herdsman in Barmo community, Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killed Samuel Monday, A 30-year-old man.

The Oriye of Barmo, Yakubu Sarki, made the disclosure on Wednesday when the state Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dogo Shammah, who hails from the area, paid a condolence visit to the deceased’s family and the traditional ruler.

He explained that a suspected Fulani herdsman snatched the motorcycle of the young man and tortured him before he was killed, The traditional ruler said the suspect has been arrested by the youths of the community and handed over to the police in Wamba.

Sarki appealed to the state government to come to the aid of the residents and rescue the community from the hands of Fulani herdsmen, as he said they have been disturbing their peace.

Sarki said People of the community no longer go to their farms or move freely because of the notorious herdsmen. He added that he was recently attacked by fully armed herdsmen on his farm.

Reacting to this Shammah expressed worry over the ugly incident and urged the youths and members of the community not to take laws into their own hands as a way of revenge.

He assured the people of the community that state government would take appropriate measures to seek lasting solution to the issues of insecurity in the community and the state.
