NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ASSUMES DUTY IN BENUE

George Chuku has assumed duty as the 40th commissioner of police, Benue State Command.

He took over from Bartholomew Onyeke.

The new CP from Obioakpor local government area of Rivers State, was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 3rd march, 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of police.

Notably, Chuku has served as an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Administration, Akwaibom state, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in charge of Operations, Zone 3 Yola, in 2017, Director Legal Studies, Police Staff College, Jos and DCP in charge of operations, Ebonyi state Command.

He was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in March, 2022 and posted to Force Headquarters, Abuja as CP administration/Chairman Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Later, he was moved to the Force CID where he served as CP Special Enquiry Bureau from where he was transferred to Benue state command as Commissioner of Police.
