Nigeria Flying Eagles qualify for round of 16 at the FIFA U-20 World Cup

Nigeria Flying Eagles are through to the round of 16 at the ongoing Under 20 World Cup in Argentina.

Nigeria defeated the young Azuri of Italy two one in the second group game to progress with a game to spare.

Salim Fago Lawal with a diving header in the 61st minute got Nigeria to flying start while Jude Sunday’s last-gasp finish in the 5th minute of added time ensured Nigeria’s win over Italy.

Nigeria’s 2-1 win over the Dominican Republic in their group opener means that the Flying Eagles now has six points.

The Flying Eagles will now take on Brazil in their final group D game.

A victory over the Young Samba boys will give maximum 9 points to the Flying Eagles to top the group.
