NIGERIAN FEMALE SINGER TEMS WINS GRAMMY AWARD.

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has won the coveted Grammy prize for her effort on the track ‘Wait For U’ alongside rappers Future and Drake.

Compatriot Burna Boy, however lost in his quest for a second Grammy trophy after being nominated in Best Global Album and Best Global Music Performance categories, won by Masa Takumi “Sakura”

‘Wait For U’ picked up the win in the Best Melodic Rap performance category beating DJ khalid’s ‘Beautiful’, Kendric Lamar’s Die Hard amongst other notable artists like Jack Harlow, and Latto.

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards went down live at the Crypto.com Arena Los Angeles California United States on Sunday February 5, 2023 and was hosted by South African, Trevor Noah who is hosting for the third consecutive time.

The major talking point of the night will no doubt be Beyoncé becoming the most decorated artist in history. The evening concluded with Harry Styles taking home the coveted award for album of the year.

Beyoncé, who had already won the most Grammys of any female artist ever, surpassed the late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti when she won her fourth award of the night and 32 total, surpassing Solti’s 31 more than anybody in the history of the award.
