NIGERIAN YOUTHS WORRY OVER FINANCIAL INDUCEMENT TO DELEGATES FOR PARTY PRIMARIES

Written by on May 31, 2022

Some youths in Nigeria have expressed concerns over what they have described as the financial inducement by aspirants to delegates of most of the political parties for primary elections.

The youths who bared their minds during a media briefing in Abuja said giving party tickets to the highest bidding aspirants is certainly a bad step in the wrong direction, that can only truncate the democratic process in Nigeria.

One issue that has dominated discussions among Nigerians since the party primaries began is the financial inducement to the delegates to choose their party flag bearers for the 2023 General Elections.

The young Nigerians say money politics is capable of destroying the foundation of the country’s democratic process.

They, therefore, call on Nigerians, especially the youths, to rise and challenge the ongoing financial inducement to delegates, that may deprive the country of quality leadership in 2023.

The group wants political parties in the country to
find ways to checkmate unwholesome practices, likely to impact negatively on the 2023 General Elections.
