NOVEMBER 11 GOVERNORSHIP ELECTIONS: INEC/ICCES MEET ON SECURITY

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has sent a warning message to political actors in the November Eleven off-circle governorship elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo states.
Chairman of the Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu during the inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security, ICCES, meeting held in Abuja, said the Commission will take decisive action against perpetrators of violence during the elections in the three States.
He revealed that 4.5 million permanent voters’ cards have already been collected by eligible voters in the three states where elections will hold on November 11, 2023.
Meanwhile, the national security adviser, Nuhu Ribadu assured of President Bola Tinubu Government readiness to conduct peaceful and credible polls, being the first election to be conducted under his administration.
