NSCDC NABS SUSPECTED OIL THIEVES IN DELTA.

The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has paraded suspected crude oil thieves and oil installation vandals arrested within the Warri-Sapele road axis including those allegedly dealing in illegal petroleum products.

Public Relations Officer, Emeka Okwuechime who paraded the suspects before journalists in Warri said the current onslaught on the activities of oil vandals was achieved just 24 hours into the operations of the Command’s Special tactical team.

The suspects, 22-year-old Salisu Ibrahim, Idris Ilia aged 23, and Usman Adamu were arrested when the NSCDC tactical team code-named “Operation Show no Mercy” caught them along the Warri-Sapele road with Petroleum products suspected to be Dual Purpose Kerosene DPK and Automotive Gasoline Oil AGO. Other suspects 23-year-old Amịnu Garba and Usman Tasiu aged 19 were arrested when the NSCDC tactical team intercepted a beehive of activities at an illegal dump site.

Also in the NSCDC net for illegally selling Petroleum products along the road include Blessing Ojewale caught with Petroleum Products suspected to be DPK concealed in 30 sacks estimated to be about 10000 litres loaded in a Toyota Sienna car, and Idogor Sunday a serving police officer arrested along the Ogwashiuku-Asaba highway with about 27 25-litre jerry cans of DPK loaded in a Mitsubishi bus.

Okwuechime said the sting operations and raids of hideouts of illegal dealers in Petroleum products will be a continuous exercise until the command delivers on its current mandate from the presidency to deal with the problem of the illegal trade in petroleum products.
