OVER 500,000 NIGERIANS HAVE RECEIVED THEIR FIRST DOSE OF COVID 19 VACCINE – NPHCDA.

The National Primary Health Care Agency (NPHCDA) says 513,626  persons have so far  received the first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine across the country.
The NPHCDA disclosed this in its official Twitter handle yesterday. Nigeria commenced vaccination since March 5, first with healthcare workers who are mostly at risk of infections being the first responders.

Lagos State remains the State with the most vaccinations so far at 11-,042, representing 43.3% of its proportion. Meanwhile, the state with the most vaccinations so far through proportion given is Kwara at 26,463, representing 94.9%.

Kogi state remains the only state yet to vaccinate any individual.

The Federal Capital Territory has vaccinated 16.5% of its proportion, which is a total of 18,080 vaccinations.

NPHCDA said that the vaccine roll-out would be in four phases, starting with health workers, frontline workers, COVID-19 rapid response team, laboratory network, policemen, petrol station workers and strategic leaders.
