Plateau government to sets up a standing committee on IDPs

Plateau state government is to set up a standing committee to see to the welfare of internally displaced people in the state towards returning them to their ancestral homes.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang while on an assessment of areas attack by suspected headers in the state assured the people of the area that his government will expedite action on the law against land grabbing and better equip security agencies to combat the attacks.

His first point of call on his first official tour as governor of Plateau was Riyom, where he met with a people who over the years, had suffered from attacks, displacement and lost hope.
In Mangu local government area, the paramount ruler of the Mwagavul people said the recent attacks came as a surprise as the local government had over the years been very peaceful.
Mutfwang assured the paramount ruler that his government is an answered prayer to restore hope to the people of the state.
The governor also had a meeting with ethnic groups, visited IDP camps, and paid an on-the-spot assessment to Kantoma, one of the communities that was recently ravaged by the attacks.
