PMAN ON ARTISTES’ WELFARE

Written by on September 29, 2023

The Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, wants government, the organized private sector, corporate organisations and development partners to collaborate with it to improve the works and living conditions of musicians and performers in the country.

PMAN’s executive governor in the Federal Capital Territory, Asowari Sydney -Jack in the appeal said the idea is to ensure that talented artists receive needed support to thrive.

He noted that for musicians and performers who regularly pour their hearts and souls into their crafts, seeking to share their unique voices and perspectives with the world, the journey is often laced with challenges.

Sydney-Jack said Nigeria has a great number of talented musicians and performers but most of them still struggle to make it to the mainstream due to lack of career guide and mentorship.

The meeting said revealed that plans are underway to collaborate with key players in the health sector to provide access to affordable health intervention schemes for musicians and performers in Nigeria.
