As the Governorship and House of Assembly election continues across different centres in the country, there have been pockets of violence recorded across various polling units in Lagos.
Although there have been unconfirmed reports of political thuggery, and voters intimidation from videos gathered from social media, our correspondent reports that voting took a dramatic turn at Unit 009, Ekoro Road, in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos.
It was reported that thugs allegedly beat up voters who came out to exercise their civic duties on the grounds that they belong to a non-Yoruba speaking group.
The voters were instructed to go back to their homes after some of their phones were grabbed and smashed.
As at the time of this report, normalcy has since been restored to the affected polling unit and peaceful voting has effectively commenced.
